Digital Assets Association Austria (kurz: DAAA)

Die Digital Assets Association Austria (kurz: DAAA) ist eine nicht auf Gewinn ausgerichtete unabhängige Interessenvertretung, die den aktuellen Entwicklungen durch die Erschaffung eines Ökosystems für digitale Vermögenswerte unabhängig und positiv begegnen möchte.

The advancing digitalization now affects almost every industry and will have far-reaching effects on the Austrian economy. The increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies, blockchain and the like Co favors the emergence of digital assets - an area whose legal and legal regulation is still in its infancy.

Our field of activity

Digital assets

By digital assets we mean:

  • digital information that basically fulfills all elements of property rights
  • which are entered on a blockchain (or alternative distributed ledger technology) and can be transferred using a computer protocol
  • and could be equipped with additional functionalities through so-called smart contracts
  • Exemplary non-exhaustive list of possible assets / tokens:
    • Tokens with a technical counterparty (utility tokens)
    • Tokens with a legal counterparty (security tokens)
    • Co-owned tokens (e.g. copyright)

The main tasks of the

Digital Assets Association Austria

Die Hauptaufgaben der Digital Assets Association Austria sind:

  • Representation of interests for startups and companies in the field of digital assets
  • Support for promising projects and initiatives
  • Promotion of communication, cooperation and solidarity among the members
  • Information for the general public and the economy in connection with digital assets
  • International networking and cooperation with politics, authorities and institutions to create a regulatory framework conducive to location

"It is important that the dialogue between regulators, established players in the financing scene and new players, who are increasingly concerned with the digitization / tokenization of assets, is promoted or that technology-neutral and open-minded keep an eye on the further development of Austria as a location" , says Christian Niedermüller, initiator of the DAAA.
